What is a Playground Inspection?
A playground inspection provides a comprehensive audit check of your playground equipment. It is completed by a certified RPII inspector and ensures that you are meeting your obligations under the Health & Safety Act.
Betta Property Compliance inspectors will document structural issues, worn and broken components, non-compliance areas and safety hazards in a formal written document.
Are you a PCBU?
School boards, caretakers, restaurant owners, councils, churches and many other custodians of playgrounds are considered PCBUs, therefore, have an obligation as far as reasonably practicable to ensure the safety & compliance of their playgrounds.
NZS5828:2015 documents that annual playground inspections are to be undertaken annually and should only be done by a competent trained person.

Kindergarten Playground Inspection
Kindergarten owners and operators have a duty of care to prioritise the safety of themselves and the children in their care. A safety audit inspection provides documented proof that reasonable steps were taken to identify and mitigate potential hazards. Failure to meet the NZS5828 standard could not only compromise user safety but also expose your organization to legal liability in the unfortunate event of an incident.
It is important to understand if the playground and any play equipment are fit for purpose, and free of any significant safety risks. From a detailed report a client should be able to understand the potential risk and likelihood of risk for each element in the playground and its equipment and be able to take measurable steps to eliminate or minimize playground injuries that could result in death, permanent disability or serious harm.
