Decomposite Methamphetamine Test

What does this mean?

Betta Property Compliance initial meth testing recommendation is to do a field composite methamphetamine test. This is where multiple samples are taken onsite, up to twenty swabs split across multiple tubes. This will give you a single yes/no result and a maximum amount of meth present in the samples taken. The reason this is the most popular service and why clients love this product is it is a very cheap and accurate way to determine if methamphetamine is present in the property or not. The downside of this, is that the multiple swabs are merged together in test tubes to be analysed at the IANZ accredited laboratory.

However the inspector undertaking the meth testing will split those tubes into areas of the house, or house & garage, which will mean that you have the option to decomposite the initial field composite. Meaning you can retest the tubes individually and get a individual result per test tube, which could allow you to eliminate areas tested that do not need further testing or decontamination.

It is important that you review your initial composite meth test or talk to the inspector who undertook the initial test to understand if it is the most viable option to decomposite the initial test or go straight to a detailed meth test.
